I regularly record phone prompts, commercial corporate productions, presentations, keynotes, website videos and digital content marketing, social media marketing, podcasts, radio commercials, e-Learning, explainers, whiteboards, internal communications, IVR, voicemail greetings and much more.
Listen to my voice reels here for the best examples of my work. I’m always happy to record a short sample of your script without cost or obligation. Contact me here for more details…
I will record your script using the latest state-of-the-art equipment in my professional voiceover studio in Hertfordshire, about 45 mins from the centre of London, UK. Subject to your exact post-production needs, I then take care of the editing and processing to ensure the file you receive is of the highest possible sound quality. I will then output the files in whichever format is best for your needs before transmitting them to you electronically.
I can also provide a full range of script-writing, production, post-production services and other voice overs, if required.
I’m always happy to provide an up-front read of your voice over script. I’ll record a short excerpt with no obligation and no commitment. That’s because my goal is to ensure you are 100% satisfied with your decision. Contact me here for more details…
I’m glad you asked! Values are hugely important to me and drive everything I do. That’s because in life - and in work - we are attracted to others who share the same vision, beliefs, interests and attitudes. Whenever we connect with others who have shared or similar values we create shared bond of trust which leads to lasting relationships. My values are; Kindred, Stretch, Relentless, Perform and Create, and you can find out more about them here…
The more details, the better! Prior to recording we’ll discuss your deadline and agree the deliverables. This will include understanding the intended audience to match the style of voice including age, personality, pace, tone and formality. It will also include the file types and degree of editing or post processing (if any). I’ll also ask a little about how the narration will be edited for example, with sound effects, music or interspersed with images.
Pickups are re-takes, in other words a re-recording of a small part of the script. My goal is to ensure you are completely happy with my work, so I rarely charge in the unlikely event of pickups. Please bear in mind that there is a difference between pickups and script changes, which may be charged for.
Changes to facts, data, information and statistics happen frequently. This is especially true with medical narration, safety instructions, e-learning and telephony projects where new information has to be inserted at a later date. As a professional voiceover artist I am able to seamlessly blend new reads to match the style and delivery with existing recordings. Your audience won’t be able to tell that additions or changes ever took place. Get in touch to discuss your specific needs…
It’s often helpful to have a scratch (rough cut) video or voiced recording to help with duration and pace, but it’s not essential. Let me know where you are at with your project here…
If you are a charity registered in the UK or elsewhere, I will be happy to discuss special pricing with you. Please reach out for details…
Not as much as you might think! But to give a little more detail, project pricing varies according to the length of the script, where it is to be used and the period of time the recording is to be used for.
The industry standard method for calculating costs in the UK is based on two factors; a base studio fee (BSF) and usage. The BSF varies somewhat from one voiceover artist to the next but, in the UK at least, are all broadly similar.
Usage is calculated according to the size of the intended audience. This means that the longer the recording is used for, or the wider the circulation, the larger the audience becomes.
That said, all projects are different so always ask your intended voiceover artist for a detailed quote showing the breakdown between BSF and usage. (Tip: pro voiceovers will always be happy to share this). Please feel free to get an exact quote for your VO project by using this form…
Easily! My highest priority is your complete satisfaction, so I aim to make the process as simple as possible. This starts with communication and I always recommend a short chat by phone or Zoom to get the ball rolling.
You will be working directly with me throughout the project, so our initial chat will be the perfect opportunity for you to get to know me and ask questions.
If you have a sample of your script that you’d like me to read, I am always happy to do that free of charge and without obligation.
If you choose to work with me, we will discuss where the recording will be used, so I can arrange a quote that’s tailor made for your exact needs. I will then prepare a simple written agreement for both of us to sign that sets out our joint understanding of my obligations and your usage. Once that’s squared away we are ready to record!
If I am recording from my studio you are welcome to listen in so that you can direct the session live. Alternatively, I will record your script based on the agreed brief. I will then provide any necessary editing (to the level agreed), so your audio is listener-ready.
Finally, I’ll send the recording over. This is usually the same day. Simple!
A good brief is the place to start, and I’ll help you through the process. I’ll ask a series of questions to better understand your objectives. These will include the intended audience, the style of voice including age, intonation, personality, pace, tone and formality. I’ll also check with you on the file types you (or your editors) will need, and agree with you on whether any editing or post processing is needed.
You’ll also have the opportunity to listen in on the session, to check that my voice over narration is delivered in exactly the way you intended it.
I always record at the highest possible settings specific to your project needs. Prior to the recording session I will check with you for the exact recording specifications needed. This includes bitrate, the number of channels and output type. For example .wav, .mp3 or .flac files. Would you like them raw, cleaned up or final? Should files be separated, multi-track or mixed down? or one whole file? How would you like your files named?
If you are unsure, I am happy to advise about any aspect. Your audio producer, video production company or video editor will also have details.
Rest assured that I will always agree a time-frame with you in advance, but most short-form projects are usually complete within a few hours. Once the recording has been completed I will run quality and clean-up checks on the files.
If you have asked me in advance, I will then edit and process the work to ensure the project meets your specific requirements. If not, the files are then ready to send electronically.
Finished audio files can be very large and too big to deliver by email. Your files will be sent securely via wetransfer. You can find out details here...
